Africa Cultural Tour - Bomas of Kenya

Africa Cultural Tour - Bomas of Kenya

The Bomas of Kenya is a miniature Kenya! It is situated 10 kilometers from Nairobi City Center and about 1 km from the main entrance to the game-filled Nairobi National Park.

The Bomas of Kenya was opened to the public in 1973 locally and 1975 internationally. The word Bomas was derived from the Swahili word "boma" meaning an enclosed homestead. Currently, there are eleven Bomas, each representing one of Kenya's major ethnic groups; they give visitors a chance to experience  the traditional Kenya village life. The greatest excitement during the afternoon visit is the display of the traditional dancing, music and songs performed in a splendid arena.
